Park Hill Elementary will host their annual Veteran’s Day program featuring the Park Hill Husky Choir on Thursday evening, November 9, 2017.  This tribute will begin at 6:30pm and will be held in the Park Hill gymnasium at 1500 E Woodbrook in Derby.  We invite and welcome any current military member and/or veteran to join us at this program.  The choir has been working on songs about America and songs of thanks to share with our guests that evening.  In addition, time has been spent talking about the different military branches and the sacrifices that the military goes through to give us our freedom.  Park Hill has many families who have active military members at this time and students have been able to share thoughts and feelings with the other choir members.

A 5th Grade student said: “My dad is deployed right now in Guam.  He is supposed to be home soon and so our family misses him a lot.”

A 3rd grade student said: “My grandpa was in the Vietnam War and he is still alive.  It makes me feel good that he served our country.”

And another 5th grade girl said, “It is difficult because my dad has been deployed and works so much.  It is hard when they are deployed and it is relieving when they come home unharmed.”

We hope to see you at the Veteran’s program to say thank you for a job well done!  You are our heroes!
